POSITION SCOPE:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is the key street-level sales person in the assigned geography.  He/she is responsible for the execution of a go to market strategy that includes both DSD and Direct Routes to Market that meets or exceeds annual objectives.

The Area Sales Manager reports to the Region Sales Manager (RSM) in his/her territory

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for growing sales & market share by identifying and creating new business and increasing the customer base within the region.
  • Implements Sales strategies to deliver annual volume objectives of the region
  • Continuously monitor & report competitive activities and keep abreast of market trends
  • Monitor the performance of distributors within the area. Identify issues and take action to deal with them
  • Rollout and champion Essentia’s brand platform across all market segments.

This includes:  

  • Use the ShelvSpace app daily to record account calls, accomplishments & opportunities
  • Maintain and expand account & package distribution for maximized sales in the region.
  • Work with Distributor personnel and retailers to ensure sales, distribution and merchandising objectives are met.
  • Train & develop Distributor sales personnel on brand standards to optimize sales performance.
  • Support Key Retailer Sales calls with RSM/FMM’s as required.
  • Effectively leverage Field Marketing resources with local retailers
  • In conjunction with RSM, manage all sales expenses and budgets for region. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years business/sales experience or equivalent education.  College degree preferred.
  • Experience working for or with DSD Distributors a must.
  • Account sales experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Good command of business mathematics with strong analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Productive working in a collaborative, team environment with minimal oversight

At Essentia, we intend to evolve our analytic capabilities & data reporting to better leverage our robust insights to improve sales and deliver against objectives.  In this newly created role, the Category Development Manager - West/Central will be responsible for providing the data and analytic support for the Essentia Field Sales organization. 

In order to achieve this, the Manager will:

  • identify opportunities for process improvement, utilization, & standardization of our current data sources.
  • assist in identifying Essentia and competitor trends, identify customer, regional, or national issues/opportunities and recommendations for change basis data insights using such data bases as IRI, SPINS, Retail Link and other various syndicated sources. 
  • be a primary support person for the syndicated data internally at Essentia and lead company wide data processes improvements. 
  • support the Sales annual business planning process. 
  • create and support retailer and distributor presentations using data insights. 

This role will report to the VP of Sales Development and will be a key member of the newly developed Sales Development Team.  The Manager will support the company strategy and sales teams in tailoring national plans (that they will help develop) to local market activation.  They will be the primary data and analytic hub to help develop distribution, shelving, merchandising and promotional (DSMP) strategies and tactics aligned with brand objectives.

In order to achieve this, the Manager will:

  • deliver value-added customer & consumer insights and collaborate with internal cross-functional partners as a voice of sales data on projects. 
  • help lead the field sales teams through the account planning process and assist with the execution of the sales plan with customers.
  • work closely with the field sales team members by providing input and guidance to drive performance success and trade productivity using analytics to help the customer teams achieve their specific objectives.

  • Gain alignment on key brand strategies to inform customer/channel DSMP tactics.

In this newly created role, the Vice President (VP) of Sales Development is responsible for leading the sales planning, trade analytics, trade marketing and category management functions at Essentia.  As part of the sales senior leadership team, this role will report to the SVP of Sales and is expected to be the conduit between the Brand Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Field Sales functions exemplifying true leadership and collaboration across functions.  The VP will support the company strategy and sales teams in tailoring national plans to local market activation.  They will develop distribution, shelving, merchandising and promotional (DSMP) strategies and tactics aligned with brand objectives. 

Under the VP’s leadership, the Sales Development function will deliver value-added customer & consumer insights and collaborate with internal cross-functional partners as the voice of sales on all projects. The VP and the Sales Development Team will lead the field sales teams through the account planning process and assist with the execution of the sales plan with customers. The VP will also:

  • work closely with the field sales team members by providing input and guidance to drive performance success and trade productivity using analytics to help the customer teams achieve their specific objectives.
  • create effective channel strategies and plans, which should be consistent with brand direction adapted to local market realities.
  • be accountable for the development and execution of the trade strategy, from ideation through post-evaluation, including all associated sales support actions (main point of contact for field sales).

A primary focus will be to transform our sales strategy and planning efforts from being largely tactical, data challenged and opportunistic to systematic, data driven, strategic & insights led. The ideal candidate will be savvy in sales, marketing and trade finance. This role lead a cross-functional team of 6- 8 people to support these efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage analytics, trade spend, and return on investment
  • Ensure brand strategies are executed and communicated to field sales by partnering with Marketing and Corporate Strategy teams.
  • Ensure spending is within Trade guidelines by channel and customer by partnering with Finance and Field Sales teams.

Social Media Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Essentia Water, the #1 supercharged ionized alkaline water in the premium bottled water category, is seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our growing marketing team. Based in our Bothell, Washington corporate office, the Social Media Manager will report directly to the Director of Integrated Marketing and will be responsible for owning the strategy that takes Essentia’s social media to the next level. Leading the day-to-day management of all social media activity, this person will grow and scale reach and engagement across our social platforms through inspiring content and conversations. The ideal candidate is an overachiever with an extensive knowledge of social media, feels confident leading a team, and is not afraid to dive into data to understand and evaluate social media strategies and tactics.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Director of Integrated Marketing to develop and implement a best in class social media strategy (including organic and paid) that maps to overarching marketing and brand strategies.
  • Partner with agencies and creative team on the development and execution of content and ensure appropriate brand/voice tone is maintained and is consistent with overall brand guidelines.
  • Lead implementation, management, execution of paid social advertising programming in coordination with creative and media agency.
  • Lead day-to-day management of all social media activity in partnership with Social Media Community Coordinator—writing posts, scheduling content, managing editorial calendar, monitoring conversations, engaging with fans, and gathering insights about channel/community performance.
  • Develop, own, and execute Essentia’s a social media editorial calendar - tightly integrated with the larger Essentia marketing plan (on-going).
  • Working with agency develop measurement framework including KPI and actively measure & monitor social media through analytics. Recommend and optimize programs accordingly.
  • Manage social media budgets, work with vendors and internal teams to ensure proper execution of project objectives and scope of work.
  • Collaborate and integrate cross-functionally to ensure communications are amplified across social, supporting comms channel missions, generating awareness, and increasing engagement.
  • Staying up to date on pop culture, current events, stories, and trends to create relevant content.
  • Lead the development of standards, policies, and rules of engagement for social media.
  • Working with marketing team leads to explore and develop new channels, content, and experiences that help Essentia reach communications goals.
